Dear Mr. Branson,
I write to you in hopes that you can have a chat with your CMO/VP of Marketing regarding the immense amount of flyers I get from the VirginMedia Group to get me to upgrade my services.
I have spent months speaking to your team via Twitter and phone asking them to please unsubscribe me from all mailouts for one simple reason:
I do not own a television.
You can understand how it can be hard for me to purchase any “upgrades” when I have nothing to upgrade with. I also do not need a landline, as most of my calls are made online via Skype and Google Hangouts (I travel a lot for work.) Thankfully, you do offer a splendid internet service to which I subscribe to which allows me to make those calls. Thank you for that, it’s actually quite awesome. I can’t stop talking about how superb my internet is when I am in the UK compared to other countries. Rock on.
Your team advised that it can take more than a month to unsubscribe from mailouts (a timeframe which I do not understand, to be perfectly honest) — but I accepted the terms, even though I continued to receive flyers.
Just when I thought they had stopped — guess what? I got another one! This time it wasn’t the regular ones I usually got, but a personally addressed letter asking me…
